  1. alright, well i have a dvd recorder and i just figured out how to get my videos off of my finalized disk onto my computer, i use the dvd ripping software called "aoa dvd ripper", and well i found out that the disk has to be finalized to get it on the computer, and i was whondering if there was a different way to go about this so i didnt have to waste a whole 30 min disk on one 5 minute video, and so i dont have to finalize the disk. any help would be really appreciated. thanks

You have to finalize it for any other machine to be able to read it. Once you're done, just reformat and rewrite.

  8. DVD+RW doesn't have to be finalized. DVD-RW does.
