  1. Sound Problem, i have my desktop w/ Creative CT4670 Card connected to my stereo receiver. this receiver has no bass / treble controls and so the sound has far too much bass. is there any kind of mixer software that would help with this ?

The software that came with the card (SB Live?) should have a mixer. If not, check the player software. I know that most, including VLC, have built-in equalizers.

Whatever you are using to play your media files should have an EQ. Like I said, try VLC.

The drivers from the kx-project should solve your problem.

Also, there are at least two free DirectShow filters for audio post-processing.

I have an older PC as (mostly) a server, and that specific cards does (SB Live basic/value). When I installed XP on it with basic drivers, the EQ worked fine in VLC.
