Hi,
Well my hard drive has failed in my Pioneer Pioneer DV520H. The unit wouldn’t work at all, not even the dvd burner. I opened up the Pioneer and disconnected the hdd, put the cover back on, and now the dvd section is working again, I can play and record dvd’s. The problem I am having now is when I use the timer record feature. If the unit is turned off, and there’s a timed recording to take place, the unit will turn on and get stuck, it says HDD error (even though the recording is set to record on the DVD), and the only way to get it “unstuck” is to unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. The only way I can get a timer recording to work is to make sure the unit is turned on a few minutes before the timed recording is set to take place. I don’t mind that so much, but what if I have a timer for the middle of the night or when I’m not home… Does anyone know if there’s a way to force the Pioneer to just focus on the dvd section by default and forget about the hdd side?
