Hi!
I am searching for PAL-M tuned lcd television sets (22 to 26") that will work in Brazil without the need to hook up an external converter. I found every possible other tv sets that will tune every other system possible but PAL-M.
Your leads will be welcome.
Thanks!

Why can you not just buy in Brazil? That would seem ideal to me.
This company sells a lot of CDs, DVDs, books, electronics, etc. in Brazil. I've mail ordered CDs and DVDs from them with no problems.

They sell TVs. I'm not saying you're going to get a bargain this way, but since you seem determined to go about this the difficult way they might be able to help you. You'll have to know Portuguese to really get anywhere on the website though and I can't promise you that they will ship TVs to the USA. I have no idea what their policy is for electronics. Many electronics vendors have very restrictive international shipping policies. Amazon UK, for example, won't ship ANY electronics, not even small ones like razors, outside of the UK and maybe Ireland. Not even to France. -
Hi, Jman98,
flat panel tvs cost three times as much in Brazil. thanks for the link. I speak Portuguese. -
Try these guys, they are local to me, have an actual store and are very helpful. They have a decent
amount of multi-standard TVs:

IMHO: if you intend to stick to the analog broadcast, better use an old and good big CRT
--- LCD displays, only for digital + Hi-Def video.
P.S.: "PAL-M" is just a stupid idea from the dark days of the military dictatorship. Why care about it, now that the Brazilian TV has finally gone into "the digital age" ???Last edited by El Heggunte; 6th Mar 2010 at 20:49.

the only reason I want to stick to a Pal-M lcd is to avoid using an external converter.

PAL-M is 525/60 and unique to Brazil. I doubt you will find a name brand supporting that format outside Brazil. The only hope may be a Chinese or Taiwanese brand that supports all standards from one model design.
Purchase one of these test signal generators to test TV sets in stores. If the TV tuner doesn't support PAL-M, you will see monochrome.
