  1. I trying to capture some old clips from my camcorder (Sony DCR-TR7100E PAL) via DV OUT
Some clips turn out good, but some of the clips i just can't capture, the screen freezes and it does only creates av file about 1 MB
I can watch the clip in the camcorder, it doesnät freeze, just the pinnacle software that freeze when i start capture.
Notice, this happens only on some parts of a tape, other parts works fine.

I noticed that the camcorder shuffles between HI8 - DIGITAL 8 and som other format that looks like a fat 8 or more like fat B when i fast forwards on the the tape, can it have anything to do with this, how can i solve it.?

The picture below is a result when the capture freezes.

Try to capture the tapes with WinDV or DVIO.

Were these recorded in LP mode ? If so, is this the camera they were recorded on ?

If you play back the tapes and view them in the cameras screen, do they look OK ?

if the camera thinks the tape changed mode then the capture software will stop because of the signal from the cam. the only way to record what's on the tape would be to feed the analog a/v out into another digital capture device.
