I've got an .avi file that plays great. The file name also has () saying its DivX AC3 coded which means, I'm guessing, that the video is DivX and the audio is AC3. When I use TMPGEnc and convert the file, like I always do, I get pure audio quality. I'm also guessing that TMPGEnc doesn't know how to work with AC3... am I right? What can I do?

  3. You can convert the AC3 to wave with many different programs. I choose Vob2Audio, because it is easy. I am too brain dead to use Bsweet.

I don't have an AC3 file standalone .. all I know is that the .avi film I got is using AC3 audio .. and I'm guessing that that's why I can't convert it using TMPGEnc. I'm getting very pure audio results ...
So .. will your replies still be in affect still?

how do you mean "pure audio results"??
an easy way to convert AC3 audio is BeSweet with the GUI(tools section)
follow the guide at doom9.org--it's thorough, and very easy to do.
