  1. Everytime I shut off my computer before I go to sleep, the next day when I get home from school and get on it and go on my websites that I visit daily, I'm signed out of all of my sites (even though I tell the sites to keep me signed on) and all the login cookies are removed. This goes for Hotmail and some video game forums I go to. This has never happened before.

    Any help? Thanks.

Edit: Well...actually I do still have cookies...it's just all my websites log me out even though I have them set to not log me out. And Hotmail makes me have to input username instead of already having it set up for me and just requiring my password.

Update: After running some tests, I discovered that CCleaner is responsible for the problems issued above.

Could be many things..cccleaner, your antivirus, an error in your registry, a wayward setting.

Here's another person with the same problem, different cause than I was thinking http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/thread/8b2d30d7-dcb2...8-5ae7f8e97120 worth a look.

Use Firefox or Chrome and let it remember all your passwords.

Weird I do have CCleaner and Norton Security Suite.

Lordsmurf, no. I want to use this browser.

Go to your internet options and be sure that the box that says "delete browsing history on exit" is net check marked.

I also suggest Firefox. Anyone who knows anything about computers knows that it's faster and safer... opinion I guess..

IE = not the best browser, although IE8 is best version
Norton Security Suite = bloated mess

Your choices in software are probably part of the problem.

CCleaner is good, but maybe it (or you) is deleting stuff from the browser?

If you look at these two images, it quite possible that you have cccleaner checked to run when your computer starts and two you have cookies checked under internet explorer.

  8. @LordSmurf and HotDammit: Reason I'm using IE is because FireFox lags a lot for me and IE doesn't.

@Lowell: I think I found my problem I went into CCleaner's cookies (from the first screenshot), and it had a whole list of cookies. I chose the cookies that are from my sites and added them to the "Cookies to keep" box on the right.

Edit: I discovered CCleaner is responsible for signing me off all my websites. When I made it run, I was signed off all my websites. After I set it not to run and rebooted my computer, I was still signed in to all my websites.

So any help on how to get CCleaner to stop logging me out on all my websites?

Just don't have CCleaner start when your computer starts. It's not an "active" app, so there's no reason for it to be started/running until you have logged off from your web sites and you want to do some clean-up.

  10. If I ever do want it to clean up, how can I make it keep me logged in? Cause I don't log off of any of my sites, that's why I don't like it when CCleaner does that and I have to log back into every single one.

A number of sites/forums depend largely on cookies to keep track of your forum status, and other details. So, if you're clearing out the cookies... the server may not know you're supposed to be logged in.

Not every site does that, though, of course. Are you sure none of those sites are set to log you off after a certain period of inactivity?

You can always try disabling cookie cleaning in CCleaner, and see if the problem persists.

If you clear your cookies then it won't remember your log for almost all of your sites... Also be sure that in internet options you set so it doesn't delete browsing history on exit, or you can customize what it deletes too.

I would make it so that ccleaner doesn't start on start up or make it to where it won't delete your IE cookies. Also based on the fact your system lags with Firefox I wouldn't have any start up programs period, seems you may need more RAM or a better CPU.

Not to keep urging you to switch to FF but with FF even though you delete your browsing history and cookies you can set it to save your email and password on certain sites so that you won't have the trouble your having now. Even if ccleaner clears it you will still be logged in, thanks to good ol' Firefox.

If your system seems to lag with FF then I'm a bit baffled because my lowest grade PC has a single core AMD and 512MB of RAM and runs Firefox with ease. Much better than IE (faster...) Maybe you need to do some fixing, let us know if you need help if you decide to switch, I would be happy to help with a FF setup

I don't have it set to that.

I told CCleaner to clean cookies BUT I told it to keep certain ones. Despite that, it doens't keep them.

And my computer has 1.5GB or RAM and my computer is a good computer. And FireFox used to always run very smooth for me. It was always my browser of choice. Maybe the internet was bad at that time. But my computer is not bad. Here are its specs even:

My computer is perfectly fine. It was probably only a one time thing. IE lags/not-responds sometimes, too. It's probably just the internet, like I said earlier.

Like I said, If you need help then let us know.. We may not be getting enough information to help you with your problem, it may be another program causing the problem.
