    My sister has a Advent 5421 laptop running Vista Basic and is painfully slow and is always crashing.

    I recently installed Windows 7 on my Sony Vaio which had Vista HP and found the drivers pretty easily on the Sony website so I was going to install 7 on the Advent only to find that it is much harder trying to locate the drivers for it.

    Anyone have or know where to find the drivers for it? I think this is the official site which is rubbish tbh http://support.thetechguys.com/layout.aspx?ID={f97fce86-d7d4-4778-9f0b-bb956980e0d4}&CatID={cff92421-3f0b-4dd2-ac60-853c71ab1a2f}

    I just heard about driver backup softwares, they extract the drivers from you machine for you to put onto disk for you to use after the new OS intall.
    Is it too good to be true? Can someone recommend a good one?

    ps, it sounds like your sister's laptop has a bad hard drive.. just to be sure I would do a drive check once you get Win7 installed. When you install the new OS the partition should skip the bad sectors of the drive so that may fix it, but to be sure I would run a drive scan. Good luck
