  1. Hey everyone, just want to start out by saying what a great forum! This place is very helpful.

Anyway, to my problem. I am trying to convert a MKV file to MP4. I am using GOTSent because it is automated and splits files over 4 GB (Xbox). I have been using this tool successfully on my machine (win 7 64-bit) for a while, but recently, I have this issue where it will only convert a small section of the video; for example, it will only convert 170 MB (first 4 minutes or so) of a 5000 MB MKV file. When I begin the conversion process, correct me if I am wrong, the extraction utility will initialize and run. However, in my case it will only get up to 3% or so and close, the other process's will run quickly (because it is only extracting 3% of the video I am assuming).

After installing and reinstalling several file packages relative to GOTSent (AC3, nero plug in, etc.) I had given up and booted to my other partition, XP 32-bit. The same thing happened.

I then thought that maybe it was a bad file? Tried another, and same result. This is rather frustrating and cannot find other info on this subject.

If anyone would like a screen shot to help clarify what I am describing, then I quickly post one.

Any help on this would be GREAT! Thanks so much in advance.

  2. Just want to give a heads up; the issue seems to have been caused by a corrupted MKV files. I have ripped my movie again and has seemed to correct my issues. I am able to convert with GOTSent in xp32 just fine.

Thanks anyway. Still an excellent forum!
