  1. Hello,

While I am burning DVD+R DL with Copy2DVD, I keep getting this error. I never had this issue before with Verbatim disc. But this is my third time in succession that it is happening now.

"2010-02-24 13:29:39 Error Write error at 2001408 (16) - Code 06 29 00 [Unit attention, Power On or Bus device reset occured"

I always use Verbatim and the speed is 2.4 X. I never had any issues till recently. This is from the same lot of discs that I have been using.

This is a new HP Machine and has the driver hp CDDVDW TS-T633P H130 [E] (Scsi)

    Any ideas will be appreciated!!

P.S. Just tried a regular DVD-R. No issues with burning. Its only DVD+R DL.

What is the HP model number of your computer system? That would be easier to find out the actual model of the dvd burner you have. Try burning your conversion with IMGBURN instead of using the COPY TO DVD.

The only thing I've found on that drive is that it is probably in an HP TouchSmart of some sort.....maybe.

  6. Thanks for the responses. This is a HP Touch Smart 300-1003 Series.

I have burnt 5 successful DVD+R DL before with the same Verbatim disc. But the last 3 have failed with the same error message.

Just curious, how would IMBGURN help?

If the same thing happens with ImgBurn....replace the drive...

Because IMGBURN is the best freebie software to burn dvd media.

  10. Guys, this is a new drive and I am able to burn single layer DVD without any issues This problem is specifi to double layer only.

I can try IMGBURN, but just wary of wasting these expensive DVD+R DL without knowing what the issue was

I hate to be a party pooper but.....that drive is basically a "laptop drive"...and the model
name sounds scarily similar to the old TSSCORP drives that have boatloads of horror story
user-reviews attached to them as I recall.

Either use IMGBURN or buy yourself a external dvd burner. You're not going to know if you don't try....otherwise be stuck with burning only single layer dvd discs. Sounds like to me the culprit is the burning software that you're using. I'd rather waste one Verbatim DVD+R Dual layer disc than buying a new external dvd burner. I'm not fond of laptop dvd burners which is what you have.

P.S. TSSCORP is a collaboration with TOSHIBA & SAMSUNG.

Before replacing the drive you should do these

1: Check for updated firmware and retest
2: Check cables - unplug and reconnect

TSST drives are fine. I have several of them.

The worst laptop drives are those LG ones. Ugh.

^^^^I've never had LG laptop dvdrw's. OP just needs to use IMGBURN and if it fails to burn then we know it's the drive.

To Bjs: How would you check the cables with that type of Touch PC? I'm just curious cause I've never worked on one of those HP touch screen pc's.

To OP: Are you using the burning software that came with the HP pc? That could also be the culprit of burn failure. Sometimes softwares have conflicts and could arise after awhile. I went to the HP website and see that it has cd/dvd burning software installed.
