PS3 Media Server-unable to add shared folders

Currently running PS3 media server (beta version-1.20.4) on vista. There are no answers that i can find to this simple and yet frustrating query. even on the authors own site.

I merely wish to add another shared folder (My Pictures) under navigation/share settings tab but nothing happens at all. there are 3 shared folders there already but unable to add anymore. I click on the '+' icon but nothing. I have tried running the prog in xp sp2 compatibility mode and still nothing. Even tried it on the stable version of PS3 media server (1.10.51) and the same issue. I initially thought there may be a limit on number of folders, so i removed one and then tried to add another-still nothing. Would not even allow me to add the original folder back!!! Very Confusing.

Any thoughts?? Many thanks in advance.

I am also running the current beta under Windows 7, and are not having any issues adding folders. You cannot, however, add libraries.

How are you locating the folders in question ?

I was not able to My Pictures by coming down through the Desktop -> Libraries -> Pictures, although I could add any folders found under this point.

I could add My Pictures by browsing down through My Computer -> Users -> My Username -> My Pictures

I suspect your issue is how you are choosing the folders.

I am merely locating folders from the + icon and then browsing to them. Well that was the case when it allowed me lol. The issue is that it is 'doing nothing'. I click on the + icon to select the folder(s) but nothing happens-basically no pop up window appears to even attempt to select folders.

All seems very strange considering at some point it DID allow me to add the 3 folders that i have.

Fixed. Updated Java to V6,18. Then ran program as administrator. PS3MS now allows to add folders.

I am still running Java 6, 16. The PS3MS forums have been reporting issues with build 18, so be on the look out.
