  1. Quick question. I have a PAL file and I want to convert it to NTSC. I know how to convert it with Tmpgenc but I was wondering if there is a better way to do it for this situation.

I have a PAL file with black bars on the top and bottom of the movies which is centered. The movie quality is perfect and I don't wand to re-encode it. Is there away for me to cut out the top and bottom black bars without doing intensive re-encoding? The way I am thinking of doing it is to use bbmpeg's "crop frame" function to select a 480x480 crop, then choose: convert to output resolution by "crop".

Anybody know of a easier way to remove the black bars without doing much encoding are reducing the quality of movie? Any suggestion will be truly appreciated.

you also need to change the framerate...which requires reencoding.

  3. Oh yeah, i forgot about that. I guess i will go ahead and use bbmpeg. Anybody know if bbmpeg is a decent encoder? Is it close to tmpgenc in quality?
