I do not know how to do that. Is that tiny script I posted wrong? because as long I can use that script to render out a lossless AVI and all the problems with the source are gone, I more or less know what to do from here on. Thanks, guys.

This will be the first time I have used ffdshow, excluding applications with GUIs that might happen to use it.

Start -> All Programs -> ffdshow -> VFW Configuration -> Decoder tab. Select Codecs at the top of the left pane, use the pulldown in the right pane to enable h.264.

Looks ok to me. If you put avss.dll in AviSynth's plugins folder it will load automatically. You won't have to use LoadPlugin().

The decoder pane shows ffmpeg-dt, so it seems to be set already. Thanks!

Despite reinstalling Avisynth a number of times, I always have to load plugins, whether they are in Avisynth's plugins folder or not. It is irritating, but it is a minor inconvenience really. Thanks again!
