    Hi Everyone,

    Sure hope someone can help me. My computer for some reason will not recognize my Pioneer DVR 111L burner. I have been using this thing for years on this computer with no problem until today. After running Google and going to the Pioneer websiteI could not find a legitimate download for this driver anywhere. Can anyone please tell me where I might find it? Otherwise your recommendations for a new burner would be greatly appreciated. I use it mainly to make backup copies for the kids so as not to ruin my expensive originals. Thank you so much for your help.
    Thank You,

    Have you checked the device manager in windows? Is it listed there? If it's listed you can try uninstall and then reboot and see if windows finds it again.

    there is no driver for cd/dvd drives. windows has a generic one it uses. if you have been installing/un-installing burning software it's possible that there is left over crud in your registry. search online for "remove upper and lower filters". follow the m.s. instructions and reboot. the drive should show back up.

    Many thanks to those of you who responded in trying to help me. I got it fixed by doing the below. I hope this will help someone else in the future who may have the same problem. Have a great evening guys.

    1) Go to Start, Run
    2) Type in "regedit" without the quotation marks
    3) Then click on SYSTEM
    4) Then click on CURRENT CONTROL SET
    5) Then click on CONTROL
    6) Then click on CLASS
    7) Then find {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    8) Then delete the upper and lower filters
    9) Reboot your computer and "wahlah" your drive is now back

    I admire you greatly lordsmurf for simply saying this instead of giving it a much unkinder response that it so richly deserved. "Wahlah"?!? Ai yi yi!
