  1. I was wondering what is the Minimum CBR (Constant Bit Rate) you can record your DVD Quality Video in using 720x480 Res., what is the Maximum CBR you can you record you DVD Quality Video in using 720x480 Res., and if you choose VBR (Variable Bit Rate) do you have to set a Bitrate number or does it do it automatically? Thanks

  2. I was also wondering what Bit Rate settngs professional movie companies use when producing DVDs? Do they use a CBR or a VBR more frequently? And what number is the Bit Rate usually?

  3. 9.8mbps is the max dvd bitrate. at 720x480 you'd be well advised to stay above 4mbps unless you encode 24fps or widescreen or both. multipass vbr requires a min/avg/max bitrate, but you can set min 0, max 9.8mbps & let the encoder sort out the optimal bitrate allocation

  4. All the movies I've looked at are VBR and stay above 5 Mb ps average with a 9.8 max. If you take a movie and edit the vobs with ReMpeg, the stats are on the main page, I always glance at them before transcoding
