    hi

Recently, I have migrated from Windows to Mac.

Windows I had AutoGK. I used to convert my MPEG videos to Xvid AVI files. I used 80% quality for the Xvid video. I was happy with the video quality and the file size. Specially, when I used to play converted xvid videos, it used to cover the whole of my monitor screen.

Now on Mac I am using FFmpegX to convert to Xvid. I am happy with the video quality, however, the video screen size is not large enough. When I play the Xvid video, it does not cover the whole screen. There are some black areas around the video.

What settings can I use to convert my MPEG videos to Xvid so that video quality and file size is good enough, PLUS the video screen size is large enough to cover the whole screen?

(I like to see my videos is large sizes. I have played around the width & height boxes in ffmpegX, but it does not seem to increase the video size)

    Thanks

Black areas? Sounds like you have to crop(autogk did auto cropping).
And give more informaiton about your source. Does it contain any black? What resolution/frame size?

You could instruct your video player to play in full screen mode.
In VLC, use ⌘F or press at the bottom of the video window.
    In QuickTime Player, use ⌘F.
In MPlayer OSX Extended, use ⌘F.
