I just opened a new pack of Verbatim DVD+R 16X
Imageburn showed them as: Disc ID: RITEK-F16-01
Is this the normal ID for these discs, just wondering.

I also purchased some Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X
    Disc ID: MLK-001-00

If they're Value Line, then they're legit, but you should avoid them.

If they're DataLifePlus, then they're fake.

Where'd you buy them? They're the plain discs in the plain packaging w/ the Verbatim sticker on the cake box, right?

^^^Where ever you purchased them from it must be fakes or Verbatim is stooping low and their outsourcing to Ritek.

The pictured packaging doesn't say Value Series (It doesn't say Datalife Plus either).

That image looks like the wrapper is all dark blue but if it has the usual lighter mauve/purple band in the middle then it's like the 50 pack cakebox I bought just after I picked up the 100 pack. I checked a disk and they are also MCC 004. I picked these up about 3 months ago at Staples Canada. I hope they haven't changed them the MCC have been very reliable.

btw) The disk writing looks the same as the pic except the center is clear. It looks solid white in the pic but that could just be the background showing through.
