I had my Canon Xh A1s for about 2 months now. So far I love my camera but the only problem is the grain/noise. I spent hours searched forums for possible solutions but none of them seemed to help. Everyone told me to change the gain to -3dB but that didn't work.

    Here are my main settings:
    24F
    Manual
    Auto Focus is off
    ND Filter is off
    I tried 1/24, 1/48 & 1/60
    AGC is off
AWB is off (I reset the white balance before I film something new)
    I use 0dB & -3dB
My iris is at F1. 6 most of the time
I use lighting (It still gets grain)
I change my presets around every so often

This is a similar issue for other Xh A1s owners. Someone told me to reset my camera several times but that didn't work either. I tried using lights for all my videos that are filmed inside but there is still grain in the darker areas. I cant rely on lights to do the trick for me because I'm rarely going to film at my house. If you get a chance can you please tell me the main setting that you use for your HDV camera? My best guess is that the my settings are wrong. If you have any idea can you please reply? Thank you!

How are you monitoring? Does the noise show on a direct HDMI connect to a HDTV?

Can you post a sample frame showing the noise?
