  1. I am wondering if anyone has experience with an mpeg editing tool that can simply drop the sound out of an mpeg file, or replace it with silence, preferably without having to reencode to whole thing.

I have tried Adobe Premiere, and I can edit the sound out fine, but then I have to reencode to a huge avi file of mpeg, which takes forever.

I am looking for a possible remedy where I could simplycut the sound without having audio synch problems and without having to re-encode.

    Thanks.

  5. Nice to see somebody is concerned their kids morality. Keep it up.

I don't think you can edit the audio while maintaining the video, without having to reencode. Also, I have heard of services that edit out of popular movies the unneccessary language for family viewing.

  6. Well, i suppose if u demuxed the sound and video. then u could edit the sound in something like sound forge and select the words and paste in a "beep" sound over it or make it blank (i can't remember but i think there is a silent tool and a tone generator in sound forge). dunno if this is any help, but any way :D Then multiplex them back :)
