Okay, I recently got my Hauppauge HD PVR working, so I've been recording Xbox LIVE gameplay in 1080i. Now, when I import this into Pinnacle Studio 14 (Studio HD) the program crashes. Shouldn't it be able to handle HD video? Is there anything I can do?

Does it happen with all clips you try import? Are you capturing as ts or m2ts or mp4?

Maybe you could try remultiplex the ts/m2ts with tsmuxer(just open it and make a new ts) and see if it works better.

In precisely what format does the Hauppauge export? If AVCHD h.264, in what container? M2TS? MOD? MOV? What bitrate?

To edit any HD, you need an adequate CPU and graphics card. Pinnacle edits in native format, so it will crash if the CPU / GPU are insufficient for AVCHD. A 2.66 gHz core 2 duo with NVDIDIA GF 8500 would probaly be minimum spec. Best to have an i7 system for 1920x1080 AVCHD.
