Hi, I read in this forum that the DVD player with DivX logo do not support HD divx.
so, my question is:
what is the maximum quality a normal DivX compatible DVD player can play?
Thank you very much.

ok so i can have a 720x480/576 with hi bitrate? 5000k por ex???
and other question...
is the video is widescreen? what do a have to do so the dvd player knows that and not strech up and down the image? -
That depends on the player and how high and for how long the bitrate approaches 5000. You'll just have to test. Many will stutter or freeze for a short time with highs that approach 5000 for a few seconds. Others will have no problems with it. In general, though, with modern players a max bitrate of 5000 should be OK.

No, if your player does the resize, then good. Not doing any resize at all (together with a high enough bitrate) results in the best quality of all.
