I have a bunch of DVDs (90+ that I need to convert to mpeg) and when I use VOB2Mpeg3 and I go from DVD to an external 1T drive, media player
misreports the length of the video and says it is 6 seconds long.
As a control the same DVD will report at 02:02:55 when sent to the internal hard-drive.
Most of the DVDs are flex recorded as the 8 mm tapes are around 2h3min.
But the control shows that when I use the same software I get different results whether I go to the internal hard-drive
(2h02m55) or the external HDD USB (6s).

If I could resolve this I would be interested in buying the registration, but must assume that this problem is possibly
indicatative of something up with VOB2Mpeg3.

    Thanks

    Windows Vista Pro 64bit, 6 G Ram

Both the internal drive and the USB 1T external are NTFS formatted

Now the program is correcting timeststamp discontinuities (it never did this before when it failed)
but is generating the correct length of the control DVD on the external USB HDD
I did reset to factory defaults, but that shouldn't have fixed it, should it?

No it shouldn't have affected that. Have you got the logs of the other tests you cite?

Here is a failed log; it reports a 4G mpeg to be only 32 seconds long....

The logs look to come from 2 different PCs (or different OSs on same PC)

The sucessful log reports there to be VTS_01_5.VOB whereas the failed on does not.

    The chapters are different:
    Extracting chapter: 1...
    13:34:44 Start position: 0 End position: 19478528

    Extracting chapter: 1...
    10:46:37 Start position: 0 End position: 19533824
The last 2 points suggest an issue with the source. Are those 2 logs from the same DVD? Is DVD in a drive or on the hard drive? If the former - what is the media type?
