  1. Hello,
I just got a asus motherboard m2n68-am se2. I purchased it as a barebone kit from tigerdirect, and the memory that would have come with it is on back order. The specs for the memory is: ddr2, pc5400, 667 mhz ,1024 mb , dual ,dimm , 240 pins. I am looking to just buy the memory at a local store, but they offer just pc-5300 or pc-6400. So my question is, will the pc 5300 work in place of the pc-5400? everything else on the pc 5300 is the same as the pc5400.

That motherboard appears to be able to use up to DDR2 PC8500 (1066Mhz), so you may be slowing it down a bit using DDR2 PC5300. (667Mhz) It's more commonly used in notebooks. OK for just websurfing and word processing, but encoding may be a bit slow, depending on your CPU. But PC5300 should work fine.

My favorite is www.oempcworld.com I've yet to get a bad stick, and they ship fast and fair. Also, they will trade you for your old memory if you don't want to ebay it.
