    I am really frustrated.
Every file has audio, even inside Encore. I can preview them on the little monitor in the project window.

    - I created a new timeline
    - dragged one *.mpg file to the timeline, appeared nicely with audio.
    - dragged another *.mpg file to the timeline, appeared without audio

Some appear with audio, some not.

If I make a new timeline and start with the *.mpg file that had no audio at first, then the situation is reversed. The ones that had audio don't anymore and vice versa.

My conclusion is that the audio in these clips are somewhat different and there can be only one type of audio on one timeline/audiotrack. (The audio in these clips is MPEG audio, layer2. Only differs by bitrate)

Does anyone know why this is like it is?
    Thank You.

  2. I assume you mean Adobe Encore? If so I use it and only import the M2V (Video) and AC3 (Audio) files separate and then I create a timeline and drag the video to it and then the audio to it, I never import the complete MPG (Vid & Audio joined) to a timeline.

  3. Just to clear up above, I did not mean the format has to be in M2V and AC3 (you can use other formats) I just mean that I de-multiplex BEFORE I import into Encore.
