I am thinking that I would like to connect my cable box up to a projector. It seems like a neat idea to project the TV signal onto the wall in my place. Anyone ever try this?

I have looked up projectors online and it seems like they cost 300 bucks and up. Is there a cheaper way to do this? I am not super picky about quality at this point.

    Thanks,

    TC

If your cable box outputs a proper signal for the projector, should work. SD TV video may not look so good, though. You won't find many decent projectors below $600US, more commonly around $1000, depending on the specifications and performance. You also need a screen to get good quality and contrast. And projectors need low light or darkened rooms, so not so useful in the daytime.

You also need to consider projection bulb replacement costs. They can be very expensive.
