  1. I want to convert MKV to AVI. And the mkv contain softsub. How can i do that? I have used avidemux but for me it shows always crash problem. and i have also used any video converter works perfect. But the problem is any video converter do not use the font that subtitle(.acc) file contain. any help please.

    I also want to put water mark text in particular time line like 2:00min- 2:15min. any good easy software (commercial or freeware) that can do it easily?

    What version? you could try latest beta build from http://avidemux.razorbyte.com.au/


    But avidemux may be very buggy with some mkvs. You could try xvid4psp or staxrip instead, load mkv, choose avi xvid profile, load the subtitle and convert.

    And some other free tools you can try are format factory, any video converter free. They should also be able to burn in subs.

  4. avidmux is good as after convert everything in default option video looks perfect. Is there anyway to fix that crash problem

  5. You could try AviDemux 2.4.4. I've kind of stuck with that version because it's the last one that does good one pass .avi encoding. With 2.5 they changed the xvid settings for one pass to reduce the motion detection or something. Comes out looking like a semi-transparent checkerboard was placed over the video. But Baldrick is right. It's not the most stable for encoding .mkv.

    2.4.4. for me too. Never had a problem.....but I don't do MKV either.

    Under x264 settings make sure the Motion Estimation method is set to Hexagonal Search. I've gotten crashes if I try another setting
