    Hi,
I don't know if there's a name for this phenomenon, so I'm not sure what to search for in the forum, but my rip of a Richard Pryor DVD resulted in only a portion (maybe a quarter) of the screen being captured.

Would someone who may have experienced and solved this problem offer some advice please?

    Thanks in advance.

It seems like the auto cropping cropped a bit too much. I think you can adjust it if you use CTRL-F9 to bring up the advanced options. Set the threshold to 0 to disable it.

Okay, Thanks Baldrick, I'll try that. But the .autocrop setting was unchecked - why would it have cropped?

Because you weren't tuning the parameters - you weren't changing it from the default setting. If you're getting way too much cropped, it's most likely because different parts of the video have different amounts of black bars. You can disable the cropping entirely, as Baldrick suggests. Another possibility is to have it examine more frames to find the correct crop values. Or you can even plug in the correct amount to crop. Or have it start finding the correct values after a certain frame if, for example, the opening credits are cropped differently from the rest of the video.

All right, many thanks guys. With the settings suggested, a preview in AutoGK now appears uncropped (although quite pixelated for a 700 MB rip). Anyway, I'll run it through and look at the results.
    Cheers.
