  1. I am going to be ripping all of my DVD's and Blu-Ray DVD's to external hard dives. I want to rip them in perfect quality, full disc, special features and all. I'll be using AnyDVD HD. I want to be able to watch the Blu-ray's/DVD's on my TV direct from the hard drive without much hassle just like it was a Disc in the Blu-ray/DVD player using a media player such as the Western Digital HD media player or the Asus O'Play HD media player. I have a PS3 and would like to use that but from the research I've done it seems it only handles Fat32 formatted hard drives and mine are NTFS, mostly because of the big filesize of Blu-ray.

What format do you guys recomend to accomplish this? .iso or file formats? I have seen that there are pros and cons to each but generally which do you think is more compatible with the most types of computers and devices?

Any recommendations on the ripping and the device to play the resulting files on would be very much appreciated, I'm curious to see how you guys are doing it. Thanks.

  2. I'd say iso for ease of storage and cataloging, then use a virtual drive to mount the disc image which will give you the file structure whenever you need it. Best of both worlds.

DVDfabhddecrypter does a good job, but you'l need to buy the full version as the free version no longer keeps up with the newer protections. I have had good sucess and the isos have played on my Segate home theater + and my older wd hd media player.
