I finally got my intensity pro today through the mail so I can record my xbox 360, but the card isn't working.
I currently have my xbox 360 hooked up to my viewsonic vx2260wm moniter via hdmi
When I open Media Express all I get is a blank screen and I'm also unable to switch my monitor over to the HDMI input and get and video from the xbo. It just flips back over to dvi.
I've properly installed the card and have tried reinstalling the drivers. The cables are hooked up right, and I've double checked that the cables are functioning properly. I realized I was running Service pack 2 on XP so I upgraded to SP3. I'm able to run the disk speed test and windows device manager says the card is recognized and working properly. I tried hooking my laptop up to the card, but still didn't get any input. I'm starting to think maybe I have defective input/output slots on the card.
Computer Specs:
Windows XP 32-bit
3GB RAM
AMD Phenom II x4 940 Black Ed. 3.0GHz
EVGA Geforce GTX 285
160 GB Main HDD - runs on IDE![]()
750 GB WD Secondary HDD - SATA
I'd call blackmagic, but they are currently closed and I'm trying to get this fixed asap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are many problems with certain drivers. I'm currently on 3.4 drivers after having this problem with the 3.5 drivers, 3.4 doesn't have this problem...for me. Experiment with the drivers and see what you get.
-
A quick note that 3.6 drivers came out earlier today as well... going to give them a try now.
*edit* did not fix my problem, your mileage may vary though. I did notice that Media express v1 does not come with it anymore too.Last edited by SuperRoach; 14th Apr 2010 at 07:07.

Turns out my problem was a BIOS setting (see my posts in another thread on here). Also 3.4 drivers work for me, 3.5 don't as kILLDR3n said.
Thanks for the information, I don't think I'll bother to try 3.6 now that it's working though -
Hello guys.
Iīm new here and found the forum becouse I have the same problem using new drive (but intalling 3.6 version).
But when I uninstall the 3.6 to install the old 3.4 donīt work for me. The uninstall and install works fine but my computer still no find the intensity pro in system or media express. No matter if Iīve installed 3.6 or 3.4. When you downgrade you delete something at system32/drivers?
When I used the old 3.4 driver everything works fine to me. Premiere, Blackmagic control panel and Media express.
I afraid I will need format my computer. =/ Dammit!
Thanks and sorry abou my english.
Edit: Solve it! Iīve changed the pci-E īslot and the pc re-install again, with the old drivers. =/Last edited by soat; 18th Apr 2010 at 15:39.

Glad to hear you solved it.
If you have to install a new set of drivers again and it doesn't work, then try:
Uninstall old drivers -> shut down computer and remove Intensity Pro card -> insert card again
then boot your computer and install the new drivers.
I had to do that sometimes - new drivers wouldn't always install properly without removing the card. -
I found this thread after a google and am having the same problem. In another thread, last year, I posted after having problems getting decent results recording the output from an Xbox 360, because I was using an XP machine from 2005 which just wasn't up to the task.
More recently, I've bought a Windows 7 Professional machine with 8Gb RAM, with a i7 860 @ 2.80Ghz processor.
The Data Read rate is 112.2MB/s and the Data Write rate is 105.0MB/s.
However, despite trying to un/reinstall the drivers and also changing the slot which the card goes in, I'm just getting a blank screen. I'm using the 3.9.1 drivers. I can't find any earlier ones to test it with.
I've set the input on the card to accept component video and analog RCA audio, and it should be outputting HDMI back to the TV on one of its HDMI connections, but it's black screen all round.
Blackmagic Media Express is a royal pain to use, so I'm trying Virtualdub and it's claiming to be receiving around 30fps but when it's all black, that doesn't help.
Thanks in advance for any help.Dom Robinson

Are you also recording from the Xbox? Have you tried going to Preference and change the resolution to something like 720p 59.94 fps?
-
Yep, there's no way Virtualdub will let me change it to 59.94fps, which is the problem. I thought that was while in Capture Mode, but I click on 59.94 and it won't change from 29.97

There is a way to get it to work with Virtualdub. If you use the Intensity Pro, you just got to select Decklink from the list but I'm not sure if there's anything else. I use to own the Intensity Pro and I have recorded using Virtualdub many times, long ago.
-
Yep, on my old PC (which wasn't fast enough, as it turned out) I managed to get it to record, but for the life of me, I just can't work out why it won't here. I've selected the Decklink option too.
