    Hi,

I have a 7GB .mkv video file that i want to split in half to put on to dvd, i want to keep the files as mkv, or at least keep the quality as it is now which is really good. I tryed using mkvtoolnix. first i added the file, went to Globe set it to split, set the size to split at 3G's and link files and set it to come out as two files. Well when i went to play the file after it was done muxing it didn't work. Is there another program that is easier to use that will split my mkv files in half, and still play on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

You could try avidemux, open mkv, set start and stop and save as new mkv.

But if mkvtoolnix fails I doubt anything will work. Did you use latest mkvtoolnix?

You could try tsMuxeR Gui. It has a splitting/cutting pull down that's always worked for me

and it's very easy to use.
