I recorded something on a home DVR with DVD burner. It was from a widescreen television channel, but the recorder was set to do the recording as letterboxed.
For reasons I won't take time to explain here, I wanted to make a fullscreen 4x3 version, using Avidemux to crop the letterboxed recording, removing the black bars fom the top and bottom, also cropping off the sides of the widescreen video.
The VOB file was ripped from the DVD to my hard drive, and then opened by Avidemux.
Oddly enough, the video came out DOUBLED on the work screen, like this-
For normal playback, even on the computer's DVD playing software, the recording looks fine, like this-
Why is it coming out doubled in Avidemux?
I tried to choose one side and work with that, cropping it, but the program keeps crashing.
Anyone know what's going on?
PS
A regular fullscreen 4x3 recording from the same VOB file displays just fine on the Avidemux work screen.
