let me be straight. i am 56 yrs old, and am struggling understanding dvd shrink. i wish i had never bought the darn program. i can't work out even how to start. does this program shrink a dvd on to my hard drive only? if i had another drive, would it burn directly on to there? i have "shrunk" a dvd, and it now sits in my documents. what the heck do i do next? i have emailed help (for which I PAID) but have not received anyhelp. i sure wish someone could tell me how you can get a refund from these rip off merchants. any help would be so gratefully received.

Yep, you shouldn't have bought it because it's free. http://download3.videohelp.com/dvdshrink32setup.zip

If it's the same version you can follow a dvd shrink tutorial like http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=dvdcopy&name=shrink

    Sometimes it is!!
Anyway, If we're discussing DVD Shrink.. I have heard that some enterprising individuals have charged for this FREE PROGRAM . Without going into a lot of detail re: this program, I would suggest you go to the Tools section of this site and type in DVD Shrink and read what's there. Next go to the Guides section and type in DVD Shrink. What pops up is a bunch of guides on how to use the program.
This program is one of the most widely used DVD program around so I hope reading the guides will point you in the right direction.

I noticed that you are a new member, so I hope you enjoy this site. It is full of information and this site might be the best place to get a handle on Video stuff.

  4. Welcome. Lots of us here are "oldies" too.

    Here's another guide:

Output to ISO image and burn with ImgBurn. Good luck.

*ahem* get the plug-in that makes this an option in DVD Shrink that you can set to the default.
    ImgBurn is FREE too!

Sorry to hear you got ripped off. DVDShrink is an awesome program, but the "Help" really is not that at all. Fortunately, as already posted, there are some fantastic guides here. Also the official site for the program does offer some insight as to what most of the settings are for.

" it's the best free program that money can buy!!! Well I'm 72 so don't play the age game with me. It shrinks the original to a size that can be burned on to a standard DVD-R. It can either do it directly if Nero is installed or better still ImgBurn, or it encodes and shrinks to a set of files on your computer in a location you designate.

Nero is payware - I don't use it anymore since version 6. It's now up to version 9. Instead get your head around the genuinely free program ImgBurn, not as pretty as Nero but does a better job IMO. Go to the Tools section https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/burn and you can peruse and download a whole heap of free programs as well as shareware and payware.

I suspect you bought your copy from http://www.dvdshrink.com/ the real site is http://www.dvdshrink.org/
Personally I would check with your bank branch and maybe change your credit card details as you have revealed a lot about yourself to this "buyer beware" site. What a deal that is they will "keep" a copy of your software on their servers for 2 years for more gold! What a hide.

You can of course buy some very good payware but if you are prepared to put a bit of a learning curve into it you can get free programs that work as well at the basic level and sometimes with a few bells and whistles.... good luck

If you look at the post's already made, the words that are in Dark Red, you can actually click on them and they will take you to that tool or programs page and there will be download links, tutorials, ect.
