  1. - Never had problem playing any kind of videos, except 1080 HD file, which skipped frames when played with any players. So I spent $10 and bought CoreAVC, hoping it will smooth things.

    - Installed CoreAVC. In windows media player and windows media player classic, the video looks smooth now, but audio track just disappeared, doesn't even show up when right click. Audio track also doesn't show up when i dropped the file in Graphedit. Prior to CoreAVC installation, there was audio but skipping along with video.

-Also, VLC stops playing that .TS file completely after CoreAVC installation, just black screen, no video/audio. Long string of error message from VLC, i.e. main warning: late picture skipped, top block unavailable, error while decoding, etc. But VLC still works fine with other files.

-Did some research and install ACfilter, no change. Uninstall and reinstall FFDhow, still no change.

No luck searching around, hoping any one here can offer suggestion/advice how to fix this.

    Thanks!!

You mention Graphedit, but have you tried dropping one of the problem files into MediaInfo to see if there is audio and what type? Maybe DTS HD audio?

I find it odd that VLC would be damaged by external codecs as it uses it own internal codecs. But there does appear to be some problem there. Maybe a problem with the VLC settings. You could uninstall, then reinstall it, making sure the preferences are deleted when you reinstall.

I have CoreAVC, but I didn't have any problems with HD playback before installing. And VLC still works normally, with no skips or problems with HD video, including .m2ts files from a BD rip.

I think you may have more than one problem involved.

  3. Thanks, Redwudz.

MediaInfo said two streams in the container: 1 video stream: AVC and 1 audio stream: DTS (more info on the audio stream--48Khz, 6 channels, DTS (MA).

Are there some settings i need to do with CoreAVC or WMPs to make this work? Would appreciate some ideas/instructions.

    Thanks much.
