    Hi there.

I am trying to follow the DVD to XviD Conversion Guide at https://forum.videohelp.com/topic221896.html. But I am having problems:

Step 3: Open your project file in AVISynth...you can then drag and drop your new .AVS file onto Windows Media Player. We should see the video playing normally...
I am having problems with this part. I tried with WMC but it said it didn't support the file. I didn't try to search for a solution for that; I prefer MPC. When I drag the .AVS file over to MPC, MPC says it cannot render the file. I have searched Google and couldn't find anything that works.

Here's the code in the script if it helps:
    Code:
    MPEG2Source("DVD2AVI.d2v")
    LancZosResize(640,360)
I tried using another script to open a .AVI file from my digital camera.
    Code:
    directshowsource("MVI_1018.avi")
That didn't work either. I think it's not the script but more like some codec or option in MPC. But I don't know where to start.

I am using K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps. I believe that this is a small problem that I overlooked, and would appreciate it if somebody can explain where I went wrong.

    Thanks.

  2. Can you open your 1st .avs example in vdub ?

Did you do the full avisynth install (IIRC there are some other options when doing the install)

For the 2nd script, use mediainfo on the .avi digital camera file. Identify if you have the codec installed. ffdshow should have most common camera codecs, but you have to enable them

It works in VDM. I don't have VDub though.

I can't make out if the codecs are installed but I think it is. Here's the text layout for reference.
    Code:

Interleave, preload duration : 1000 ms
When I open the script in GSpot, it says all codecs are installed. My main priority is the first script though.

Well... thanks for the speedy reply, posiondeathray!

It works now! I just reinstalled AVISynth and it worked... I feel pretty stupid now though. I thought I did do a full install.

Anyway... thanks to anybody who helped.
