Sony dvd architect 4.5
Some how I created DVD a few years ago with 7 hours worth of material.![]()
The Disk never worked or was finalized. Used ISO buster to pull the data than used VOB2MPG v3 to pull the mpeg2 files. 8)
Called Sony tech support, the person said to create the DVD parts in Vegas. Did that, now the mpeg file will not fit on a single layer disk. They are split from 1h 40 minutes to 1h 50 minutes.![]()
Using the Sony DVD architect I tried to put them back on DVD, creating 4 dvd's out of this material, however for some reason with this program I can't make an 1 hour 50 minute DVD or even an 1h 40 minute DVD.![]()

Tutorials? We can't tell what you don't know.
The only way to get ~7hrs is with VCD mode.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

The 7 hour DVD I don't care about, I was able to save that recording. It was the 1st one I ever did with a DVD recorder in my life. However to save it in full, it needs to go back on DVD. Sony was no help, what I am asking is this.
As bad as it sounds (7 hours), it is a digital recording, with this recording I can play it back on a DVD player and re-record it, and the picture gets better.
The quality is not the issue.......
If I record something from TV, I have two hours on my DVD recorder, I just want the Sony Architect to be set up the same way.
2 hours is pretty much the normal play on a DVD + or - R, I only want 1 hour 50 minutes per disk. I can play with the bitrates and it doesnt change anything.
How do I get this out of the dvd architect program, because that is the best software that I have to create DVDs. Yea maybe I can do 1h and 30 videos on it, but why can't I get the normal 2 hours. The tech guy from SONY on the phone was useless....I asked what is the maximum length you can put on DVD with the Sony Architect, he said it depends on what software you are using. I said I am using your software. His answer, I don't know. I also told him it had problems with duel layer disks and he blaimed it on my computer. He said I need to update my drivers....He also said my menu was too big, well it was only a .jpg photo. -
Filesize = running time x bitrate
Which means that within reason, you can get any running time you like onto a disc, so long as you use the correct bitrate.
What is the correct bitrate ? That is what bitrate calculators are for. Look in the Tools section. This site provides a good, online calculator, and there are several standalone ones. I like Video Calc (vCalc) myself.
As for dual layer discs - only user Verbatim +R DL blanks, and only burn them with Imgburn. Anything is a waste of time and money.Read my blog here.

Verbatim +R DL, wow they work amazing no more errors thanks.
I think the problem was I went from Vegas to Architect. I need to save the file first than put it in to Architect.
Last question is how should I save the files in Vegas, it has a few options with interlacing. I want the motion to be natural, basically how it was recorded.
