I made the mistake about telling my whole family about watching movies on these dvd players

    Which they all bought.

Thing is, that was when I use to download DVDRip movies

Nowadays i download HD movies which 99% of the time are in MKV format.

They all depend on me to get movies.

So my question is, is there any chance of this dvd player ever being able to play MKV files in hd???

    Thanks

    Extremely unlikely, no.

Also, most set-top DVD players that can play DivX/Xvid have an additional restriction - they won't play any AVI/.divx file that exceeds 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC). Some might, but they'll scale the video back down to those DVD resolutions.

You'll either have to convert, or get them all something like the WDTV.
Or just buy multiple copies of the DVD/Blu-Rays.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
