    Hello,

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 245BW and would like to pair it with a similar model and run dual screens. Since this monitor is discontinued, I am looking for opinions on which monitor would be good to pair it with.

    Main criteria:

    1. 24 inch monitor
    2. 1920x1200 Resolution
    3. 400cd/m2 brightness

I am having a hard time finding a suitable monitor. It seems like Samsung's new monitors like the 2433BW or the T240HD, while meeting the other criteria, are 300 cd/m2 brightness.

    Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I just bought a new Samsung monitor, and you are right, the new models are 300 cd/m2.

A search at Newegg.com tuned up this list of monitors from other manufacturers based on your criteria

thanks for looking that up, I didn't know you could perform a custom search like that on Newegg. It seems there is quite a price jump going to 400 cd/m2 brightness. I wonder why that is?

  4. Coincidence i'm looking for one too and preferably 24 inch as the 22 inch size is about to become standard.

Thus far i found the Syncmaster 2370 or 2370H, their color get a 5 stars on a test i read.

But there is also something to consider the 3D and for that i'd need a 120 hz capable monitor. The SyncMaster 2243HZ appear to be better than the 2253Hz (in a test i read again).

You'd go to the LCD Monitors section and use the "Power Search" to have more search criteria available.

Sometimes the price difference may be explained by a monitor having something other than the usual TN panel, or having a more adjustable stand. Often it is just the size or the brand.
