I have a monitor with a dvi and a vga output. Im trying to play and record on one monitor so that i can just swtich from vga to dvi. I am using a hdmi to dvi cable but the problem is when I plug this into the out of the blackmagic intenstiy pro I get an "out of range" picture even though my monitor supports 1024x720 resolution. Is it possible to play and record and the same time on one monitor and just switch over from digital to analog for me?

I can't make heads or tails from what you are saying.

Xbox360 exports 1280x720p or upscaled 1920x1080i and BM Intensity Pro ony accepts those resolutions over analog component.

Your 1024x720 native HDTV should accept and rescale the looped analog component 1280x720p or 1920x1080i so what is the problem?
