Have you opened up the case and checked to see if all belts, idlers are in place and that the drive motor is turning? I imagine there is also some sort of tensioning mechanism that controls reel rotation and that may be slipping or not engaging. Or the belts may be stretched and slipping.

You might also go to Sankyo's website and see if a service manual is available.

    One service/user manual possibility: http://office.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/sankyo/dualux_1000.html
    One source for belts: http://stores.ebay.com/PROJECTOR-BELTS-SUPER-8-8MM-16MM

    And welcome to our forums.

  4. I cleaned a closet yesterday and found my dualux projector all boxed up. Haven't used it for at least 16 years! I have all of the original equipment, including the cover and the manual. Here are a couple of things from the manual that might help with your issue...1. set the format selctor knob to the type of film you're using - Regular 8 or super 8; 2.make sure you have a good film tip (cut if necessary); 3. set the rotary control switch to "FWD" position; 4. Press the loopsetter guide (when the rotary control switch is set at "FWD" position and the guide is pushed all the way down, the guide will remain in closed position for threading operation); 5. Insert the film tip into the auto-load slot. release your hold on the film as soon as you feel a slight tug indicating that the feed rollers have taken up the film. CAUTION: The auto-load slot will not be accessible for the introduction of the film tip if the RAPID REWIND LEVER is pulled out (it has an "R" on it and pushed inward). I no longer use this machine nor intend to so if any of you will pay the postage, you may have the complete machine, manual, cover and all.

    Hi Grmadon,
Do you still have the dualux?
