    I am new to all this so bare with me. "My question is, What is the best, cheapest, dv to dvd software to buy for converting video file to burn to dvd?

    for free - AVStoDVD or the film machine. when encoded using henc, hard to beat.


    if you need editing software that's a different story. there is a free editor being released in the next couple months from the vlc folks.
