you are using composite to capture. it only does 4:3. any widescreen will be hardcoded with black bars top and bottom.

it may be that the drivers and that device don't work with win7 64 bit as i see you're using in your profile.

does it have s-video connection? small round plug? but that won't change the 720x576 size or give you widescreen, just a higher quality source.

i'm guessing hech54 is right and the game console doesn't output the tv signal in a way the kworld understands if you can record in mpeg-2 using a webcam but not the game. you could try in the settings to see if it has other tv formats listed that might work, maybe something like pal60.

you'd need a better capture device to get component or hdmi HD video.

On the other hand....if anything can get around the PAL60 problem it will be one of these little USB Doo-Dads. I've read of some of them have drop-down menu options for just such an occasion.

if you can get mpeg-2 to work in pal60 mode on win7 give it a shot.

  8. I too, think these things only record in mpeg2 ..(spent may hours puzzling this out) then convert to mpeg4.. got one of these to replace a broken DVD recorder.
Seems to be Hardware based mpeg2 .. now all I need is a svideo male to male lead, to work alongside my scart adapter.
Tried the Old Vic, but the male lead wasn't interested. Then you add the postage on top, cheap becomes mid priced

The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

MPEG-4 is not meant to be a capture format unless it's using MPEG-4 hardware encoding. But even then...
