Now I know that this is a dropframe or interpret clip issues, likely, but I am wondering if someone could give me the exact settings on both my XHA1 and my Premiere CS4 (as well as critical process steps) so that I can capture my 24f footage without it slipping out of sync?

I have tried various settings (including 60i captures) but nothing seems to be working.

    Thanks

i'd give hdvsplit a try for transferring your tapes. make sure the box for "synchronize audio and video" is checked. then import into ppcs4. if they don't show up as 24p then right click interpret footage as 24p. that cam really does record as 24p not 24p in 60i like the hv20/30.

Wade through this swamp. The XHA1 does deliver 24p in 60i. You just need to extract it.

I really don't understand why people want to shoot 24p unless dual NTSC/PAL distribution is the goal.

a sample would be nice. what i understood was the a1 shoots 24p like the hv40, not 24p in 60i like the hv20/30 that needs inverse telecining to 24p.

but either way i agree with eddv on the why do it? it isn't going to look anything like film anyway.
