I heard that dvdstyler has a "don't re-encode" option so as to eliminate the need to encode VOB files when converting to dvd, thus speeding up the dvd creation process. I'm using dvdstyler version 1.7.4 with Windows XP and I can't find that option. I also downloaded the beta version 1.8 and I can't find it there either. Does anyone know where this option is, or does dvdstyler recognize the VOB file and automatically not re-encode the file?

This option is available in the Properties Panel of the selected title. It is named [don't remultiplex/transcode]. Go to File Browser, select a movie clip and drag it down onto the Titles Panel then double click on it. I am using the current version 1.7.3

In 1.80 beta 3 you can go to Settings and change "Default disk capacity" to "Unlimited".

Thanks. I found the "do no remultiplex/transcode" option in dvdstyler after adding a .vob file, but it's de-highlighted (unselectable.) Here is what I'm attempting to do: I encoeded a large avi file to .vob using FormatFactory. This is a quick way of encoding the file, and it is quick (learned this from a comment page for a dvd creation software.) I added this .vob file, then double clicked as you suggested, but the "do no remultiplex/transcode" was grayed out. Any ideas?

I think DVDSTYLER will make this option available only if the VOB clips were absolutely DVD compliant. If this option was greyed out it means there is a problem with this clip [ may be a subtle coding bug in a single frame ].

I suggest you re encode the original AVI clips checking all the required settings and if the problem persisted then you need to consider using another DVD authoring program such as WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER.
