    Hi all -

I've read most of the threads here on selecting a VCR. The Mitsubishi HS-HD2000 is at the top of my wish/hunt list, followed by the JVC's and the other recommendations you've all made. Thanks for the great list.

I need to pick one up this week, though, and I'm limited to what I can find on eBay today or locally in Ann Arbor. What I'm finding is quite a few older Sharp VCR's.

Anyone have recommendations of model numbers from Sharp? (Or conversely, ones to avoid?)

There's also a few Quasar models, so if anyone has thoughts on those, I also appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  2. What is the project?

You will find wide variations on what is good for your vhs tapes, were they all recorded on one brand/model?

My own NTSC VHS experience is that the following gives the best overall playback:-

    or a lot of choices:-
