Hello There,

I need to compress and convert more than 10 Vob files (each little over 1 GB) from private function DVDs. I am using MediaCoder 0.7.2.4582 and I experimented and narrowed on this setting:

Video: H.264 - 2000 Kbps
Audio: LAME MP3 - 256 Kbps
Container: MP4
Picture: 640x400 (original is 720x576)
Frame Rate: 25 (should I put 30?)
Aspect Ratio: Keep DAR (original is 16:9)
Sound: Stereo, output channels 2 (I never got what Channel 1 <= Channel 1 means?).

Resulting MP4 output is ~380 MB

Kindly comment on:

a) Is my tool and approach is correct?
b) Original DVD files have interlaces, how to de-interlace and compress with best clarity if not quality?
c) I wanted to use FAAC instead of LAME MP3, but MediaCoder throws errors. Anyone knows about this problem?
