  1. Hi.

I've bought Creative inspire P5800 for 2years ago.
But only 2 out of 5 speakers work...
The weird thing is that when i plug in the green cable in the green hole, 2 speakers work.
when i put in the black cable in the green hole, 2 other speakers work...
Some one knows what the problem is?

    Thx /Robin.

Depends on your audio card, onboard or PCI. Some have jacks for all surround channels. The green one is usually just stereo. My motherboard uses three or four jacks for surround, though I use a separate surround amp instead hooked to my speaker system.

You would have to adjust your audio card settings for surround, 5.1 audio or similar, and find out which jacks are used for the different channels. Telling us what motherboard and/or audio card you have would help considerably.

Not really familiar with that card, but it should operate your surround speakers. I would go through the manual for the card and see what the proper hookups and settings are. A lot of motherboards also have surround sound output these days, but even with those, you need to go into the sound cards software control panel and set it for 5.1 or similar audio configurations, then plug your speakers into the correct output jacks.

5.1 is the most basic surround mode, with the two front stereo speakers, two rear speakers and a center channel speaker. The '1' after the '5' designates a subwoofer. 6.1 adds a 'rear center' output, 7.1 adds two 'rear center speakers'. You need a source for surround sound, such as a DVD, to properly test the setup, along with a software player that you set to surround output. The front center channel speaker should be the dialog, and the others just do 'fill in.'

With my system, I output digital audio (coaxial) to a separate surround amp, then to my speaker system, so I don't use computer speakers at all.

The plugs are green for the 2 front speakers, black for the surround sound and orange for the woofer/center speaker for the sound blaster x-fi,one of the most popular sound cards out there.

You have to go to Creative Audio Control Panel and set the speakers to 5.1,setting it in windows sound doesnt work.
