I cannot delete folder I backed up in an external drive and restored to a new Slave. I tried Unlocker but it tells me "Folder is corrupt and cannot be read". I googled for a tip and tried command line after disabling explorer. Nothing happened, not even confirmation in cmd. Windows deleter tells me to run checkdisk but cannot run it in the K:\ drive which is an external drive for my backups.
How can I run chkdsk on K drive?
How do I delete the folder.
The folder contains several sub folders which contain sub folders. Some deleted Ok individually but there are these tough ones that won't delete.
Please help I don't want to reformat.

Take any important stuff off the drive and only format that drive, you did reboot and tried to delete the folders again? I think, therefore i am a hamster.

Try rebooting into safe mode. What kind of drive is it? Both Western Digital and Seagate have drive tools that can be freely downloaded.

start a command prompt and type

 CHKDSK K: /F

 if it checks ok, try

 RD /S K:\FolderNameHere
 or
RD /S "K:\Folder Name With Spaces"

	Thanks Trevor.
I ran chkdsk on K: and followed up with RD /S K:\BACKUPDDRIVE

 That did the trick

I should not have forgotten DOS. It's such a powerful thing to know, we get to love user friendly crap.

 Thanks mate.
