Not much new ... but IPv6 may cause problems with networks / devices which do not support IPv6 (default) ... disable it on the network interface used on the windows 7 system and reboot

Works well but then I never had problems with vista ... just the UAC disabled ... I hate nag's ... we have shareware for that, lolll

Re: the comments about Windows7 and slow performance: W7/64 is a great program, but all the Vista/W7 systems need serious resources and then they will work fast and perfectly. I got Acer laps for my two kids, max RAM and 2core AMD 3GHz processors. I am running W7 on two of my homebuilds, and XP Pro on my wife's homebuild.

    Get 3 utilities, all free:
*Hijack This, Autoruns, Regseeker from Hoverdesk

*Use Control Panel: Add/Remove (or whatever its called in W7 and Vista now) to remove the garbageware installs; after that, use Regseeker to remove all entries of these junks in the register.

If it comes with McKafee or Norton, remove these. Use Regseeker to remove the register bloatware that came with them. These are total software brakes-they will slow your machine drastically. Substitute Avira free and Zone Alarm free. You will instantly gain 20% performance, I promise. Use the software tweaks available to remove the Avira and Zone Alarm nags if they bother you.

Run Hijack This: nuke extra buttons, CTFmon.exe, and all running entries that you can start from shortcuts instead of having these "helpers" loading into memory. Get rid of "auto update" entries that will look for current updates to various programs you have; notorious among these are Adobe Reader/Distiller, Microsoft Office products, Windows updaters, etc. Another hog: BHO's and Toolbars are evil, kill them. You got my word, most owners don't even know they are loading and they are awful resource hogs just sitting on your table eating your CPU clock cycles.

Next fire up Autoruns; at the top tabs, click "Hide Windows entries" and click "Everything". Now you are seeing all the things loading besides Windows system files (which you told Autoruns to hide to make things easier). Anything useless, put a checkmark in front and Autoruns will prevent it from loading. After you run your computer a while and all is good, go back in, hilight the entry and hit delete and it's gone forever.

Through the years I have done this with client's computers and never had one complaint yet, but everybody raves about how well the computer is now running. You will have a lean, mean, speed machine, trust me.
