Everytime I try to use this MKVMerge program it creates an MKV file and the video and audio both work perfectly but the subtitles never show up for some reason.

Ive tried more than one subtitle file type and more than one different video file with other subtitles and they NEVER show up. whats going on here?

Is there something Im not doing here?

Ive only tried playing in windows media player and VLC media player. Thats always worked just fine for me when viewing subtitles in MKV files. They work fine in VLC Media Player but they wont work in my windows media player. Ive always used windows media player to view MKV subtitles. Why wont these ones work in it?

You can try opening the SRT in a text editor and see if there's anything funky inside... maybe compare it to files that have worked. Also, DivX Player, which is part of DivX 7, lets you associate external SRT subtitles to video files, so you can see if that is able to display the subtitles for you.
