Does your site software change have any implications re the choice of Avatars ?

I've considered having one (which would be a first in my case) from time to time, but the ones I've leaned towards -- even though not all that large (in kilobytes or pixel dimensions) -- all seem to exceed your stated specs. Are they ironclad, or is there some flexibility on this ?
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

The forum will automatically resize the avatar if it's too big. So just choose any image you like.

I mentioned this earlier, but replies omit nested quotes -- the message quoted above had a quote that has disappeared when I did a "quote reply".

    Is this a deliberate policy?

I think vbulletin hates nested quotes. I will see if it's easy to add.

I've given it a few days because I'm resistant to change and I thought I might get used to it, but.....

I use https://forum.videohelp.com/viewforumlatest.php to see what's new, but I find the layout now is too spaced out vertically. Now it's a more of a pain to scan down the list and see if anything appeals to me to look at. The text doesn't 'leap out' like it used to. That's all it takes to change me from a "let's see if I can possibly help or add anything positive" kind of forum regular to a "I'm only here to ask questions" visitor. I hope you understand what I mean

Yep, it's too spacey. I will try squeeze it a bit.

I find you have to paste text right over the cursor cause when you lose focus in the reply box you cant paste anything.

Thanks! That's what was driving me crazy. The first thing I usually do is click Forum, View All My Posts to see what I need to reply to. Until today, I had no way to see what threads to reply to with the new format. I have a whole bunch of threads to reply to today that were not showing up the last couple of days.

EDIT: The only problem is that it is showing all the threads as unread when they are all read.

You must change that after you logged in, https://forum.videohelp.com/profile.php?do=editoptions . I can't seem to find any setting for it to add to the login.

I found the 'Mark Forum Read' in the forum-tools drop-down, but is there a 'Mark All Forums Read' button I'm not seeing?

Things are getting much better overall, but when I tried to use the VH glossary, it didn't work.

Yes, it's broken. The Glossary Forum is still there, so maybe a link problem.

Can we have the post option back to NOT automatically make links for keywords like app names?
Useful as it is, its repetitiveness throughout a thread makes it unwanted at times for readability. Other times you may use these words without referring to any particular app (super comes to mind).

The default VB smileys suck. I think Baldrick has imported a few from another source. (About eleven) Probably more when time permits.

Videohelp Server info from The Planet:

    Server hardware
Intel Xeon 3060 Dual Core Conroe Processor
    2x250GB Hard Drive
    2048 MB RAM

Intel Xeon 3060 Dual Core Conroe Processor
    2x250GB Hard Drive
    4048 MB RAM
I think someone asked about that. Always surprised me the entire site runs just on that, and part of that hardware is the backups. The actual data size is fairly small, compared to video files.

We used PHP for quite a long time and it had a lot of patches to make it work as it did. VB has many, many more options, which makes it very flexible, but a bit harder to initially set up. But Baldrick is making quite a bit of progress.

Is there an equivalent to the old Statistics page, just for those of us who are bored... er, curious?

Not quite, though I'll keep that page bookmarked, too, just in case. The one I'm somewhat interested in was the old forum statistics page (at https://forum.videohelp.com/statistics).

(Edit: Is there any way to make the Advanced Reply form the default? Probably something simple that'll make me look incredibly stupid for not seeing it, if it is, like something in Settings > Forum Settings > Miscellaneous Settings > Message Editor Interface...)

The two hover spots on the thread lists show the last post. Can one be set to show the first post, like it used to be?

Which hover spots? After the change, I still saw the OP when hovering over the thread title, and the most recent post when hovering over the gray arrow after the user's name. (At least, when the tooltips do show up... occasionally, they stop working for me, for some weird reason. )
